Prosperity Advisers Group Wins Excellence in Large Business at 2025 Business Hunter Awards

Prosperity Advisers Group has been named winner of the Excellence in Large Business category at the 2025 Business Hunter Awards, celebrated before an audience of more than 600 at NEX Newcastle. The award recognises the firm’s sustained growth, strong client outcomes, and deep connection to the Hunter region.

The recognition caps off a milestone year for Prosperity, which recently surpassed $1 billion in funds under management (FUM) within its financial services division and completed a merger with P+Y Accountants & Business Advisors, expanding its capabilities and client reach. With offices in Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane, Prosperity delivers an integrated service model across accounting, tax, business advisory, financial planning, corporate assurance, and salary packaging.

Founded in Newcastle more than 35 years ago, Prosperity has grown to employ over 200 people. Its culture emphasises innovation, collaboration, and the development of talented professionals, while its reputation has been built on long-term relationships and conflict-free advice.

Founder and CEO Allan McKeown said the award is recognition of both people and performance.

This accolade is testament to the dedication of our team and the trust our clients place in us,” McKeown said. “Reaching $1 billion in funds under management and completing a major merger in the same year reflects the strength of our strategy. It’s about more than growth — it’s about making a meaningful impact for businesses, families, and communities across the Hunter and beyond.

In the past year, Prosperity has recorded 21.3% revenue growth and advanced to #36 in the AFR Top 100 Accounting Firms list. The firm continues to invest in digital capability, automation and adviser development to ensure clients benefit from both scale and personalised service.

As a result of winning the Excellence in Large Business category at the Business Hunter Awards, Prosperity will now progress as a finalist in the Business NSW Awards later this year, where it will represent the Hunter region at a state level.
